Boxxet: Packaged Best.

Boxxet brings together the "best of" news, blogs, videos, photos, gear and much more on people's favorite subjects. Boxxet's unique combination of computer automation and community passion produces the most diverse and complete best-of compilations on the Web's most popular and interesting subjects.

Their official “about” statement is enough for me to go through what they have to offer. My first Search was “Keira Knightley” (she's hot) and guess what I found, the new trailer to Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End. I know they showed it on TV but it's the first time I saw it on the net. You can view it here.

Anyway, I just wanted to share that. Going back to Boxxet, it's a web service that let's users see the best of a certain topic, usually celebrities, tv shows, movies and news items (don't worry, I saw some sports teams too!). Basically it's another way of searching the blogosphere for the best posts in blogs or new stories and media. Boxxet simply used the idea of gathering the most dugg articles and stuff about the topic.

Come to think of it, Boxxet does not bring anything new to web but it sure does package the web in really good way. Personally I already prefer it over digg and del.icio.us because its suits my search-now-forget-about-it-tomorrow attitude. The results on Boxxet unlike on digg and del.icio.us, are packaged in a way that it's easier to appreciate your query a lot faster. Simply put, it smacks the best it can find in your face. These “best” include blog posts, photos, videos, news articles and other stuff on the web.

Moreover, when I'm feeling generous and like to share something I think is the best about a topic I find on Boxxet, I can easily upload the link and they'll put it on.

The only problem I see on Boxxet is its utilization of the power-of-masses too much that only the most rated and popular article make it on their site. Furthermore, I can't find a way to submit a new topic.

Nevertheless, I like it and from now on be using it to search the web for photos of the hottest celebrities and updates on the latest movies. At least I'm sure I'm getting the best of the web.
