Woman sues Apple for $1M over the iPhone price cut.

We've all heard our fair share of absurd and out of this world lawsuits. Some have won like the McDonald's coffee cup holder case and most have lost (though I can't remember any particular case).

There were also a lot of irate customers when Steve Jobs announced that the iPhone will now be $200 cheaper and for those who didn't make the price cut, they will be getting a hundred dollars worth of Apple goods for their loss. So basically Apple just legally "swindled" a hundred bucks off the first iPhone buyers.

Most people would have just shook their heads and said "oh well, even gas prices go down" or "sh*t happens!" and get on with enjoying their iPhone. However, a woman from Queens NY, Dongmei Li, has filed a lawsuit against Apple and not only for the $100 Apple took from her. It wasn't even a reasonable $1000 for all the hassle Apple put her through. For her, the hassle is worth a whopping $1Million.

The reasons she claims are, "price discrimination, underselling, discrimination in rebates, deceptive actions and other wrongdoings." Basically, Li is saying that Apple's price cut has disabled her to resell the product for a reasonable price and that Apple just cut its prices to capitalize on the Holiday season.

All her reasons sound justifiable and really sound and although many people are thinking that $1M is way too much, I think why not? That amount is for the court to decide and for a company like Apple, that's loose change.

Anyway, I think the price cut was indeed unfair and the $100 rebates were not enough. So I guess I'm hoping Li wins the suit.
