Whew.. It’s been a long weekend and the market has been really busy. Well it should be after last week’s banal spree of acquisitions and investments.

This Tuesday however has much much more in the news as I expected.

Shipwire Inc., a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based provider of Web-based solutions for storing and shipping merchandise, has raised $4 million in Series A funding led by Meakem Becker Venture Capital.

Beyond Media of Pensacola, Fla. has acquired Intent MediaWorks Inc., an Atlanta-based digital media distribution company. No financial terms were disclosed. Intent MediaWorks has raised over $11 million in VC funding from firms like Allen & Co., SoftBank Capital, Bertelsmann Capital Ventures, Greycroft Partners, Menemsha Capital Partners and IMW Partners.

Vitrue Inc., an Atlanta-based video-centric social media company, has raised $10 million in Series B funding. Dace Ventures led the deal, and was joined by return backers Comcast Interactive Capital and Turner Broadcasting and General Catalyst Partners.

vMix Media Inc., a San Diego-based online media platform, has raised $16.5 million in Series B-1 funding, according to a regulatory filing. ATA Ventures and JK&B Capital were joined by return backers Mission Ventures and Enterprise Partners.

PicksPal Inc., a Mountain View, Calif.-based provider of an online sports gaming service, has raised $3 million in Series C funding, according to a regulatory filing. Return backers include Bay Partners and Canaan Partners.

Apollo Mobile Media Inc. has raised $1.2 million in Series A funding, according to a regulatory filing. Backers include Madrona Venture

Group and Trilogy Equity Partners. The Seattle-based company describes itself as a "next-generation, integrated Web 2.0 and mobile consumer social shopping service.

Imagine Communications, a Cardiff By The Sea, Calif.-based provider of digital video platforms, has raised $15 million in Series B funding. Court Square Ventures led the deal, and was joined by return backers Columbia Capital and Carmel Ventures. The company has now raised just under $25 million in total funding.

Skinkers Ltd., a UK-based provider of P2P technology for live content delivery, has raised $16 million in second-round funding. Acacia Capital Partners led the deal, and was joined by return backer Spark Ventures and company management.

FastBooking, a France-based provider of online hotel booking services, has raised €35 million from 3i Group and Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners. Part of the proceeds will be used to buy out existing shareholders like Iris Capital, with 3i and Rothschild gaining a 62% equity position.

Worktopia, a New York-based online booking engine for meeting space in hotels, airport lounges and other venues, has raised $5 million in Series A funding. DFJ Gotham Ventures led the deal, and was joined by Milestone Venture Partners and High Peaks Venture Partners.

Fora.tv, which wants to become the C-SPAN of the Web, closed a $2 million seed round from Adobe Ventures and Will Hearst.

Fantasy sports betting startup PicksPal has taken $3 million Series C in a round that included previous investors Bay Partners and Canaan Partners.

Skinkers, the UK company that is building a P2P live TV platform with Microsoft, has taken $16 million Series B in a round led by Acacia Capital Partners that included original investors Spark Ventures and the Skinkers Management team.

VMIX, which powers social networking communities for a number of leading media brands, has raised $16.5 million in Series B funding. VMIX offers is own online community where users can upload videos and create their own channels, but also partners with popular sites including the Independent Film Channel and Media General.

In another example that investments in Internet advertising startups are far from cooling, eXelate is announcing a $4M investment from Carmel Ventures.
