Round the Clock Acquisitions 25-January-2008

Well, after this week’s earlier shebang of investments, the tide has finally subsided (for this week at least).

A recent discussion at the Future of Mobile Technology in Davos, pointed out the bleak conditions for revenue of mobile startups in general yet VC fundings still keep pouring in.

The mobile industry may not completely generalize the internet industry but still they’re all somewhat related and any bleakness theremight mean bleakness here too.

Anyway, here’s today’s roundup.  Thanks to GigaOm, PEHub and Mashable.

Ooyala has just raised another $8.5 million in second-round financing.  The round was led by Sierra Ventures, as was announced on their blog this week, and brings the total amount of funding to $10 million.

A company that uses predictive algorithms, Adchemy, has raised $19 million in a third round of funding towards this end. This brings the total amount raised by Adchemy to $27 million, and this latest round of funding will reportedly go towards increasing its workforce and rolling out new products.

Endeca Technologies Inc., a Cambridge, Mass.-based provider of search and information access software, has raised $10 million from Intel Capital and another $5 million from SAP Ventures. The company previously raised around $45 million from Bessemer Venture Partners, Lehman Brothers, Ampersand Ventures, Venrock, Monarch Capital Partners, DN Capital and Granite Global Ventures.
