Microsoft – heartbroken after being rejected by Yahoo! is on the rebound.  In light with the current Mobile World Congress happening in Barcelona, which reports that Windows Mobile handsets have sold 14.3 million units in the past 6 months , Microsoft just purchased Danger Inc., the makers of the T-Mobile Sidekick, for an undisclosed amount.

Danger Inc. has hit hard times with the slumping economy and which halted their plans to go public and just sell out to Microsoft instead.

In an interview by GigaOm, Microsoft did not shed any details as to why they acquired Danger.  They simply said, “The addition of Danger serves as a perfect complement to our existing software and services, and also strengthens our dedication to improving mobile experiences centered around individuals and what they like.”

Well, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to speculate what Microsoft would do with Danger.  They’ll probably make a phone or some fancy gadget to take on the iPhone and the upcoming invasion of Android powered G-Phones.
