Canadians were hoping that they’d get iPhones for Christmas 2007.  However, those were only rumors and up until now, no Canadian service provider is offering the iPhone.

Finally. the news comes with Rogers’ announcement of their quarterly earnings. Ted Rogers, company President and CEO issued a statement to the following effect: “We’re thrilled to announce that we have a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Canada later this year. We can’t tell you any more about it now, but stay tuned.”

However, there are no details about the pricing nor when exactly.  So Canadians will just have to wait a little bit and hope that they get the 3G version which was also leaked out from Apple this year.  Rogers had this to say, "We can’t tell you any more about it right now, but stay tuned."

Well, the Canadians will definitely stay tuned.  As for the countries whose stocks of the iPhone are being depleted, well they can only hope that the 3G iPhone is on its way.
