CBS announced earlier today their plans regarding a partnership with Yahoo.  The Eye Network (CBS) and Yahoo were actually finalizing a deal that would make Yahoo part of CBS’s Audience Network which includes of 300 partners including Youtube, AOL, MSN, Joost, Veoh, Fancast, Bebo, and TVGuide, etc .

The Audience Network offers short-form clips from CBS, CSTV and Showtime, and before the inclusion of Yahoo reached nearly 90 percent of the Web. The clips are advertising-supported and free to consumers. [Reuters ]

The deal was confirmed later in the day.

Unlike their competitor NBC Universal,  CBS emphasized that they wanted to have their content available in as many places as possible, which is the reason for the Audience Network.  NBC Universal on the other hand have stricter regulations with their shows.

On the other side, Yahoo TV already provides an outlet for NBC and FOX shows and now CBS.  However, CBS will be the largest single content provider on Yahoo TV.
