Well, isn’t it just good sportsmanship even without sports going on.  The Microsoft IE team shows good conduct by sending their friends at the Mozilla camp a cake to congratulate the Firefox Team on a successful release and the Guiness World Record .

If you still haven’t gotten the new Firefox, well you’ll be more than the 8 millionth person to download the browser.  The Firefox Team was trying to set a world record for the new browser as being the most downloaded software in 24 hours.  Their initial target was 5 million which they achieved early.  By the end of the day, they had a total of 8.3 million downloads.

Firefox is the world’s favorite open source browser and in recent years it has been trumping Internet Explorer even if most of the world’s computershave IE preinstalled on the Windows or Mac platform.

Anyway, it’s good to see that the developers of IE and Firefox aren’t killing each other.  Besides they all used to work together anyway.  The cake is becoming a tradition between IE and FF, IE also sent FF a cake when Firefox 2 was released.

Again congratulations to Firefox and let’s see that cake again next year.
