Second Microsoft Ad with Gates & Seinfeld

Microsoft’s ad campaign has started off with, according to Microsoft, "Star power" but according to a lot of the audience, "A Dud".  Anyway, whatever was on  Microsoft’s mind with the first ad in their new ad campaign, it simply left us all in confusion.

It could have been a dud or it could have been a rhetoric question that will probably makes in the second ad in the series or later.  Well, the second ad is out and ironically, I don’t see the connection.  Ironic because the ad was talking about making connections or connecting to people. or something to that effect.

Anyway, in itself, the second ad simply says that Microsoft has connected people.  Which probably intended consumers to believe that Microsoft  has and will continue to connect people with their products.

Now, a lot of buzz is going around saying that the Microsoft  Ads are confusing, ineffective and unable to properly deliver the message.  That may be true, but I think Microsoft is ramping up this campaign to a point that when everything is rolled out it makes perfect sense.  And personally, I don’t mind.  I think that the ads are funny and I love it and long to watch every episode.

Besides, Microsoft Windows seems to be staying as the dominant leader in the OS arena  for the next 10 or 20 years simply because they’ve built a great name that sticks to and spans everyone in the world.  So at this point, I couldn’t care what they’re trying to prove with their ad campaign.  I just find Gates and Seinfeld very entertaining.

Anyway, that’s my two cents and here are others’ thoughts.
