President-elect Barack Obama has named some of his team that will be working on his policies on technology for his administration.  According to reports from Obama’s transition team in Chicago, Julius Genachowski and Sonal Shah were slected to be part of the team.  Both men are executives in technology companies.

Sonal Shah is from Google.org and a former vice president at Goldman Sachs while Julius Genachowski is a former IAC executive who also served as chief counsel to former Democratic FCC Chairman Reed Hundt.  Moreover, Genachowski also has old ties with the new president, they were classmates in Harvard Law School.

"Julius is a true believer in the power of technology to change lives and I think that bodes well for the Obama administration that someone like him is part of the transition team," said Rick Whitt, Google’s Washignton telecom and media counsel.

The two men will be giving Obama advice on technology policies during the administration.  Their first order of business is to launch a website, www.change.gov
