Looks like 3.6 million “creepy Facebook stalkers” would not be happy that the popular app Breakup Notifier no longer works on Facebook as it was banned by the social networking site.

TechCrunch reports that the app, which sends e-mails to users as soon as their Facebook friends update their relationship statuses, can no longer do so.

Dan Loewenherz, Breakup Notifier’s creator, was not happy that his app was banned without warning, only to receive a generic e-mail from Facebook stating that the app was removed after the social networking giant ran “routine automated screens that take user feedback, machine learning, and various algorithms into account (to) remove spammy applications.”

And as if to add insult to injury, Loewenherz’s own Facebook profile was banned as well. Facebook has yet to respond to his numerous requests.

In the meantime, the app tells its users to “Facebook on Twitter” to vent out their displeasure.
