Microsoft is riding the wave of online coupons as it partners with deal aggregator The Dealmap and incorporates discounted deals to its Bing search engine, both on its desktop and mobile versions.

Bing’s new feature lets the search engine provide more than 200,000 coupons and offers from businesses in over 14,000 cities in United States. These deals come from various online coupon providers such as Groupon, Living Social, and Restaurant.com.

Online coupon sites are among the latest web-based trends that appeared last year. The most popular in the list is Groupon, which closed a funding round worth almost US$1 billion after turning down an acquisition deal by Google worth $6 billion.

Other search engines are also hitching on the online coupon bandwagon. Yahoo! introduces Local Offers, providing deals and coupons from local businesses. The service is in partnership with Groupon, LivingSocial, DealOn, Zozi, Tippr, Coupons.com, and Valpak.

Meanwhile, Google is currently developing a program geared on offering pre-paid deals and vouchers from small-scale merchants.
