March 14th, 2011 at 5:45 am

It is inevitable that streets in the future will be littered with electric vehicles, especially in this age of rising oil prices and dwindling fuel supplies, as well as increasing calls for renewable energy sources.

Enter Google Maps and its latest function: Locating every known public electric vehicle charger. Users of Google Maps can simply type the search term “EV Charging Station” followed by the address or location where you plan on going with your electric car. Not only it shows where is the nearest place to charge, but also the brand, the level, and payment mode of the charging station.

This free service can be access on the computer and on mobile devices.
