Mozilla has launched its latest generation of the Firefox browser. Firefox 4 is updated with a sleek and stripped-down interface and a newly-designed navigation bar, which Mozilla claims that it “learns as you use it” and “adapts to your preferences.”

Early reviews are so far encouraging. Business Insider lauded the best parts of Firefox 4, including the hardware-accelerated graphics, better crash protection, and improved browsing speed thanks to its new JavaScript engine. Mozilla claims that browsing with Firefox 4 is up to six times faster than its previous versions.

The release of Firefox 4 comes after Microsoft launched its Internet Explorer 9, which was reported to have been downloaded 2.35 million times within the first 24 hours.

As of this posting, Mozilla claims that Firefox 4 has been downloaded 4.56 million times. It is freely available on its official website.
