Online social network giant Facebook seems to be trying to further give its users a more enhanced experience. Facebook is now a place where people not only keeps in touch with their network of friends online, it has also become, among other things, a place where people play games, go online shopping and even voice out their opinions for the millions to hear. Who knows, it might also become a place where people may be able to read books. At least, that is what most people will think with Facebook’s recent acquisition of Push Pop Press.

Push Pop Press is a digital book maker that has recently became known for developing an iOS app for former US Vice Pres. Al Gore’s book titled “Our Choice”. Well, it might not be for this specific instance that may have made Facebook decide on buying Push Pop Press. But the social networking company did so for reasons other than trying to get into the digital publishing realm.

According to Push Pop Press, Facebook have bought the company mainly for the technology that it holds with regards to developing a more enhanced digital book experience. The technology it displayed through the iOS app it developed has allowed combining together text, images, audio and video and how readers interact with it via touchscreen displays to create a unique digital reading experience. It seems that Facebook would want to integrate such a technology into its wildly popular social network to further enhance user experience on the site.

For whatever reason Facebook may have in acquiring Push Pop Press, it certainly gives the social network some thing to look forward to. It goes to show that Facebook is still keen in innovating and improving its social network site that may even entice more and more users to join in. After all, users will only stay with Facebook if it continues to offer something that excites them. Getting more features would certainly help do that.
