Yahoo! CEO Apologizes for Resume Inaccuracy

Yahoo CEO Scott Thompson has apologized for allowing an inaccuracy in his curriculum vitae appear in his official profile.

In a memorandum sent Monday to his employees, Thompson said sorry for the uproar caused by the information. The document did not provide explanation as to why Thompson’s bio included a bachelor’s degree in computer science that he never received. Despite the apology, Thompson will not heed calls for his resignation.

Thompson’s memo came on the same day Daniel Loeb, whose hedge fund owns a 5.8 stake in Yahoo, escalated his campaign to oust the CEO for unethical conduct.

Yahoo’s board of directors is investigating the circumstances leading to Thompson’s exaggeration of education credentials.
