Google Retires iGoogle, Google Mini

The only thing permanent in this world is change, or something like that. As Google pushes further into the hardware business with its Nexus 7 tablet, the search engine giant has also announced that it will put an end to some of its services.

Among those that are on the chopping block include the Google Mini enterprise search system, iGoogle, Google Talk Chatback widget, Google Video, and the Symbian-based search app. Google Video has already stopped accepting uploads.

Of course, Google will not be leaving its customers biting the dust, as it will be pushing users into existing properties. For instance, users of Talk Chatback will be brought to Meebo, while Google Video customers will be relegated to YouTube, which will take full effect in August.

Full details of each service’s closure are listed in Google’s official blog.
