Thanksgiving Becomes Instagram’s Busiest Day

Instagram‘s servers dealt a lot of data during Thanksgiving. According to its official blog, the photo sharing service (recently acquired by Facebook) announced that last Thursday, over 10 million holiday-related pictures were shared on the social network. The tsunami of photos peaked in at around noon Pacific time with over 200 artsy-filtered images were being uploaded every second.

The company also revealed that this year’s Thanksgiving was one of the app’s most active days, adding that it “broke all records as we saw the number of shared photos more than double from the day before, making it our busiest day so far.”

This should not come as a surprise, right? With Igers’ insatiable fondness of taking photos of their food before they eat it, sometimes even taking second servings in case they forgot to capture the first.

You can imagine how Black Friday with its leftovers and crazy bargain shoppers would bring.
