Instagram Feeds Now Available on the Web

Please join me in a moment of silence as we mourn the future demise of Statigram and Webstagram, as their only function becomes available in Instagram. You see, since its inception, photographs uploaded and posted on Instagram can only be viewed through phones, whether within the app or through a mobile browser. But the Facebook-acquired app has recently announced a Web version of the service, allowing you to view Instagram feeds right through its website on your desktop, laptop or tablet.

“To make Instagram even more accessible to our growing community, at the end of last year we started to expand to the desktop Web, giving you the ability to see profiles from,” Instragram CEO Kevin Systrom wrote on the company blog.

The Web version is almost similar to the mobile app, allowing users to view their profiles and some of their most popular filtered photos. You can also view your entire feed and even like a photo by double-clicking on it, as well as leaving a comment below it. However, you still cannot upload a photo on the website.

Systrom explained: “We do not offer the ability to upload from the Web as Instagram is about producing photos on the go, in the real world, in real time.”
