Facebook has announced that users can now log into the social networking site anonymously. This process, however, only applies when a third-party app is asking for permissions via Facebook Login API. The anonymous login enables users to try out apps without handing over their personal information.
Take note that it is only anonymous to the app makers, but not on Facebook. Users who decide to allow more permissions into the app can be done in a few taps, which can provide more customizable options and better features.
The Facebook Anonymous Login is now available in beta and works with all apps that uses the Facebook Login API, whether through Facebook Connect or a more manual login. The feature is being tested in a handful of apps, rolling it out to more developers in the coming months.
